About this Product

Unique and attractive orchid mounts to show-off your orchid collection. These mounts make a great addition to how you display your orchids. Made of stoneware ceramic which will last indefinitely verses organic mounts that eventually rots or degrades over time. Orchid mounts are brown in color, unglazed and has textured surfaces to give roots an anchoring point. These are being sold as a set of six, are small and made for miniature orchids. Approximate dimensions of each ; [(2 ea.) 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" ], [3-1/2"x3-1/2" (smooth textured)],

[3-1/2" to 4" DIA.] , [2-3/4"x5-1/2"], & [4"x5"] . Sold as a set of 6.

Meet the Maker

My name is Andrew Moore. I started ceramics about seven years ago inspired by my hobbies and desire to design and create new products for the garden, fish aquarium, and reptile pet hobbies. I saw the opportunities for new ceramic products to introduce to these hobbies.

Currently I am focused on products for the garden or plant hobbies, particularly orchids or epiphytic plants. The potential variety of designs for orchid mounts is endless.

How it’s Made

Handmade from rolled clay slabs and various hand tools from stoneware clay. Some tools I make myself. Once dried, piece is then fired to cone 6 in a ceramic kiln. The whole process takes several days. Although I repeat many designs, each piece is unique and no two are exactly the same. Many of my designs are intended to be rough hewn in appearance with imperfections such as rough, random edges. The random edges is one of my favorite designs. Gives a natural looking element to the mount.
