A unique and attractive ceramic orchid mount to show off your orchid collection or epiphytic plants. These mounts make a great addition to how you display your orchids. Made of stoneware ceramics which will last indefinitely verses organic mounts, such as wood or cork, that eventually rots or degrades over time. Orchid mount is brown in color, unglazed with a rough textured surface and perforated holes to give roots an anchoring point to adhere to. Approximate dimensions are 5" in width, 17" in height, and 1-1/2 " in depth. This mount has a slight arched or curved profile, width wise. Approximate thickness of the clay is 1/4".

Meet the Maker
My name is Andrew Moore. I started ceramics about seven years ago inspired by my hobbies and desire to design and create new products for the garden, fish aquarium, and reptile pet hobbies. I saw the opportunities for new ceramic products to introduce to these hobbies.
Currently I am focused on products for the garden or plant hobbies, particularly orchids or epiphytic plants. The potential variety of designs for orchid mounts is endless.

How it’s Made
Handmade from rolled clay slabs and fashioned with various hand tools from stoneware clay. Once dried, piece is then fired to cone 6 in a ceramic kiln. The whole process takes several days, mainly from the drying process. Although I repeat many of my designs, each piece is unique and no two are exactly alike. Many of my designs are intended to be rough hewn in appearance with imperfections such as divots and rough random edges from the forming process.
